Construction History of the 20th Century, Construction Processes, Patents in Architectural History
Since October 2022, Tiago has worked as a research assistant and doctoral student at the Chair of Construction Heritage and Preservation at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH) in the SNSF project “Architecture & Patent”. He studied architecture at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University in Hanover (LUH) and visual culture at the Technical University in Vienna. In 2011, he completed his diploma thesis with Prof. Michael Schumacher (LUH) and Prof. Peter Mörtenböck (TU Wien), in which he worked on the spatial curatorial expansion of the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen. From 2011 to 2015 he worked as an architect at Spillmann Echsle Architekten in Zurich, where he participated in the addition of a storey to the “rauti-huus”, the expansion of “Tanzwerk 101” and the conversion of the “Maag Halle”. From 2013 to 2019 he worked as a research assistant and taught at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology at the chair for building construction and design of Ludwig Wappner. In addition to teaching, he has worked as a freelance architect in Zurich. From 2020 to 2022, he worked in project development and competition support at planzeit in Zurich.
